Spanish super talent Pablo Torres signs mega-contract until 2030 with UAE Team Emirates

The great promise of Spanish cycling will make the jump to the World Tour immediately! Pablo Torres will compete in the main team of UAE Team Emirates from the 2025 season on his first professional contract. And what a deal it is!

The 18-year-old rider from Madrid has renewed with UAE until 2030, the team confirmed in an official statement. Torres, one of Joxean Fernández Matxín's biggest bets, will move up to the next level and leave UAE Team Emirates Gen Z behind.

The name of Pablo Torres has catapulted in recent months after his spectacular performance at the Tour de l'Avenir. There, the Spaniard began to make a name for himself among the most promising young cyclists in the world by winning two stages and coming close to winning the overall classification after an epic comeback on the last day.

Since then, several historical figures of Spanish cycling have surrendered to the projection of Pablo Torres. One of the last was none other than Alberto Contador, in a statement where he said that, among other things, he could compete to win the Tour de France in the future.

Pablo Torres' words after his renewal

In the official press release from the UAE team, Pablo Torres makes his first statements as a World Tour rider: "For me it is a dream to be part of UAE Team Emirates. I am very excited and eager to continue growing surrounded by the same people, in the best team in the world and next to the best professionals. The treatment I have received this year has been spectacular both from the staff and the riders and I am delighted to be part of the team until 2030."

"I have worked hard to be able to take this big step, but this has only just begun and there is still a lot of work to do to be able to give my best to the team. I am very grateful and thankful for the support and trust they have placed in me from day one," he adds.

It remains to be seen how much of a star Pablo Torres can be in his first years with UAE Team Emirates. With the presence of Tadej Pogacar, Juan Ayuso and Isaac del Toro, among others, the competition will be brutal. What is clear is one thing, Matxín's team will have a problem!
