There is no doubt he and Jonas are in the 95/96 Vo2 max range, maybe more, some has estimated Tadej is a 102. We know where Lance was as he was tested multiple times during his career at varying altitudes, we know what Lemonds Vo2 was as well.   Estimated, and how do these scientists know what Tadej is taking? He’s estimated to be clean? Just like guys are assumed to be nice or mean in the peloton. Unless you see everything in sport with your own eyes, it’s estimated.

  If the tram composition were different, then the outcome of the tour may have been different. Regardless, Tadej was younger and ride on pure talent. He has refined his technique, strength, strategy and mental strength beyond anyone else. I don't see Jonas having a chance in the future. Paul Seixas will be a different animal in 2027, so nothing may be guaranteed or as straightforward for Pogi. As the saying goes... let the best man win!

  before, during, and after every tour, somebody brings up the reducetheteamsize issue. it is not even an idea anymore and the arguments always the same, repetitive and redundant. maybe they pull it out every year to fill the news vacuum between tour and vuelta?

  A number of riders (Rooks, most prominently) have acknowledged using EPO in the '89 Tour. The French prodigy Fignon said that he was tempted, but declined. Though he admitted to using all the other PEDs common to that era, so who knows? Fignon also speculated that PEDs may have contributed to the form and aggressiveness of his cancer, but his own doctor disagreed. Again, who knows? Yes, you are right: EPO was approved for human trials in the mid-1980s, and approved by the FDA in mid-1989 for medical use.
