Soudal - Quick-Step has signed Paul Magnier and Luke Lamperti as two of their new sprinters for the 2024 season and both are confirming their talent in impressive fashion. In the cut-down third stage of the Tour of Oman, the duo finished first and second in the uphill sprint to the line.
Anton Palzer, David Delgado, Mohammed Al-Wahibi and Ariya Phounsavath have marked the day's breakaway, in search of success in a stage that was only 76 kilometers long. An ambitious plan, but one that several teams were aware of and they did not let the gap grow much. Soudal - Quick-Step and UAE Team Emirates did most of the work behind.
The stage had lost it's main difficulties and was now ending in an uphill drag to the line after a flat day. Here it was Paul Magnier who launched a devastating sprint, and took the victory for the Belgian team. Behind was teammate Luke Lamperti, as both celebrated the triumph, whilst Bryan Coquard was the best of the rest in third place.
