Uno-X Pro Cycling Team have taken a strong win today at the Saudi Tour as one of their bright talents Soren Waerenskjold took the win in a reduced bunch sprint on stage 3.
It was another tense day in the desert with the high heat and wind, which has seen slow speeds throughout most of the day aswell as a lot of tension in direction changes. It was a day that was to be decided in the final kilometers as expected.
In the final hilltop Zdenek Stybar opened up the honours by attacking at the base still outside the final kilometer, with Santiago Buitrago bridging across afterwards. However the two had nothing in the legs to keep the move going, and an Uno-X-led peloton brought them back in the run-up to the line.
A sprint was inevitable between the surviving riders. Jonathan Milan had a great effort to take the lead in the final sprint in what seemed to be the decisive move once again, but he was overtaken in sight of the line by Soren Waerenskjold - the under-23 time-trial World Champion - who took a brilliant win in the difficult finish. Cees Bol hung on to sprint for third place.
