Serghei Tvetcov reveals that he was dealing with blood cancer last year: "Today, I enjoyed every pedal stroke"

Serghei Tvetcov won Romanian championships with a big solo ride. This alone wouldn't raise many eyebrows as the Denver Disruptors rider was one of the big favourites to take the win. However the 34-year old Tvetcov shocked everyone when he revealed, that he was dealing with blood cancer last year.

"I am very happy to have won that title and the race after a difficult time in my life. In September last year, I was diagnosed with blood cancer (CML). With the support of my family, NCL Denver Disruptors team, and modern medication, I am able to race my bike and be competitive," revealed the Romanian.

Tvetcov continues: "Today, I enjoyed every pedal stroke! Thank you to all the fans and friends who support me. It's time to appreciate the beauty of the three colors of the Romanian flag on my jersey."
