"Roglic, Küng, Ganna and Tarling are formidable opponents" - Remco Evenepoel well aware of threats to time-trial world title

After his stunning Olympic double in Paris earlier this summer, Remco Evenepoel now heads to Switzerland in a bid for similar glory at the 2024 World Championships.

"The course is certainly worthy of a World Championship. It is a circuit that suits me very well, but that gives no guarantees," Evenepoel preview of the individual time trial course in quotes collected by HLN from a pre-race press conference. "What I felt last week in training is promising. I've made progress in the last two weeks. I'm in shape just in time."

The reigning and defending time trial world champion, Evenepoel is well aware all eyes will be on him in the race against the clock. "I am definitely one of the favourites on this course," he concedes, although the Belgian is also quick to note the very serious threats to his Rainbow Jersey. "I will give it my all and leave nothing to chance. Primoz Roglic, Stefan Küng, Filippo Ganna and Joshua Tarling are formidable opponents."
