The Dutch selection for the Mixed Team Relay at the World Cycling Championships in Glasgow was taking a blow after a blow. After Mick van Dijke couldn't participate due to his crash in Sunday's road race, it was also announced on Tuesday afternoon that Lorena Wiebes wouldn't start. The top sprinter was replaced by
Riejanne Markus, who was crowned Dutch time trial champion in June.
The KNWU announced via Twitter just before the start of the Mixed Team Relay that Wiebes was also unable to start. Riejanne Markus had to take her place. "Get well soon, Lorena," the caption read.
