Soudal-Quick Step rider Remi Cavagna's last season was filled with ups and downs. He is hoping that the new year will bring more stability and potential success.
An injury early in the year left a bitter feeling for Cavagna, who also missed out on the spot on the Tour de France roster. However, he did get two bronzes in Vuelta a Espana. He is hoping for a new beginning in the upcoming season.
"I really want to get back to this level and enjoy myself,” Cavagna told CyclismActu. He continues, "I do a good job for the team. 90% of the time, I'm there to help my teammates, it's quite a difficult job, but I like it. Last year I had some small problems with crashes, I was a bit upset, 2022 was a bit of a difficult year for me personally.”
Cavagna was disappointed by his lack of victories last season, but he is hopeful that the new year will bring a change in luck. “It's a new Remi. I'm motivated, and I've trained well for the moment. I like cycling, but I also like to have those special moments of victory or big numbers that I like to make, attacks far enough from the finish,” Cavagna concluded.
