Itzulia Basque Country will be a spectacle and a first chance to see all four Tour de France favourites in one place. And neither of them seems to be taking the Spanish WorldTour race lightly. BORA - hansgrohe bring a real armada for Primoz Roglic.
The German team's backup leader will be third man of recent Tirreno-Adriatico, the 2022 Giro d'Italia winner Jai Hindley. Another excellent climber in the selection is German champion Emanuel Buchmann (4th at the 2019 Tour de France).
Still, the biggest mystery that remains to be solved surrounds Roglic's form. It's been a rare sight at Paris-Nice to see the Slovenian struggle to hold up against the best and take a rather modest role instead. For Roglic, the tenth place overall is his worst result in any completed stage race since 2021 Paris-Nice, where he still managed to grab three stage wins along the way.
