Tour de Pologne 2025 GC Update | Heroic Paul Lapeira finishes stage 3 despite nasty crash, keeping Maillot Jaune due to time neutralisation

Paul Lapeira's race looked over towards the end of stage 3 at the 2025 Tour de Pologne, as TV cameras caught the Maillot Jaune in a ditch at the roadside and seemingly in some serious pain. With the race neutralised though, and all time gaps cancelled, the Frenchman eventually rolled over the line more than eight minutes after stage winner Ben Turner, but it was enough to keep his race lead.
With 25km to go and the peloton closing in, Team Jayco AlUla's Kelland O'Brien attempted to go solo at the front. At the head of the peloton meanwhile, a nasty crash on one of the pacey, narrow and technical descents saw the likes of GC leader Lapeira, Mathias Vacek and Polish national champion Rafal Majka crash hard into a ditch at the roadside. As mentioned, Lapeira eventually managed to get back on his bike and finish the stage, as did Majka. Vacek however, has sadly abandoned because of the incident.
What that means for the general classification standings, is that Lapeira retains his overall lead, 8 seconds clear of Victor Langellotti now following Vacek's DNF, with Jan Christen rising to the podium at 12 seconds down, tied for time with Antonio Tiberi. Pello Bilbao completes the top 5 at 13 seconds off the pace.
Behind them comes Quinten Hermans, Finn Fisher-Black, Brandon McNulty, Rudy Molard and the aforementioned Majka, all at 14 seconds down on the Yellow Jersey.
