Peter Sagan is back! Former World Champion will race Tour de Hongrie and sprint against Mark Cavendish

Peter Sagan, virtually, retired from road racing at the end of last season but not 100%. He is still dreaming of racing the Olympic Games MTB race and in preparation for it, he will race some events on the road. He will most likely headline the upcoming Tour de Hongrie together with Mark Cavendish.

Sagan has signed a contract with Continental Slovakian team Pierre Baguette Cycling, ran by his brother and former pro Juraj Sagan. He has raced a few amateur events this year, mostly off-road, as he looks to build form and gather points ahead of the Olympics. He is by no means confirmed to be racing there, and is still in the pursuit of this goal.

He believes that adding some road racing to his calendar at a high level can benefit his preparation and the Slovakian team was invited to race the Tour de Hongrie. As the race announced it's provisional startlist, Sagan is present; and is joined by the likes of Mark Cavendish, Dylan Groenewegen and Jordi Meeus who he will try to battle with in the sprints.
