Pavel Sivakov sidelined from Volta a Comunitat Valenciana with hamstring injury - Frenchman has tough start with UAE Team Emirates

Pavel Sivakov has signed with UAE Team Emirates this winter and is having a big year. The Tour de France may be the biggest goal of his season where he'll support the team's ambitions, but he has not started off on the right foot as an injury takes him out of the Volta a Comunitat Valenciana.

The French rider made his debut with the Emirati team's colours this week and has been riding in support of the likes of Brandon McNulty. The team has been doing quite a lot of work in the front of the peloton and he was present there. However he did not start stage 3 of the Spanish race.

Sivakov reportedly suffered an hamstring tendon injury. The team shared the news, with Sivakov having his preparation for the spring delayed. He will be racing Paris-Nice as a possible GC contender over the coming month however it will require a swift recovery.
