Tadej Pogacar is not participating in the Vuelta a Espana 2022. After being second in the latest Tour de France, UAE Team Emirates has confirmed its decision not to have its captain take part in the final Grand Tour of the season.
Thus confirming for the third year running that he will only take part in the Tour de France as far as the Grand Tours are concerned. His possible participation had been anticipated at the start of the season with the Slovenian.
Pogacar class will in fact be at the start of the Clasica San Sebastian this Saturday, a race in which he will undoubtedly be one of the big favourites before observing a period away from racing for about a month.
He will resume his schedule on Sunday 28 August at the Bretagne Classic, a race in which he will be able to begin his journey towards the end of the season in which the big objectives will be two: World Championships in Wollongong and Il Lombardia.
Also planned are the Canadian trip with GP Québec and GP Montréal, scheduled for Friday 9 September and Sunday 11 September, as well as two appointments on the Italian autumn calendar: Giro dell'Emilia (1 October) and Tre Valli Varesine (4 October).
