Neilson Powless rules out start at Ardennes week too, after missing Milano-Sanremo and Flemish classics

For Neilson Powless it is a spring to quickly forget. The 27-year-old American started the first months of 2024 full of ambition, but a knee injury put a quick end to his ambitions. After missing Milano-Sanremo and cobbled classics, Het Nieuwsblad reports the EF Education-EasyPost rider will have to skip Ardennes too.

Powless hoped to shine in the spring classics this year, but after a crash in O Gran Camiño he suffered knee problems. The all-rounder started in Strade Bianche and Tirreno-Adriatico, but was unable to finish the latter race. He was then sidelined for some time with a knee injury, which should be gone, but Powless seems to haven't had time to complete enough quality training sessions to be in shape for the hilly classics.
