Nacer Bouhanni returns to racing 9 months later - "I am doing everything I can to get back on track"

After a long absence caused by a horrific accident during the Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkiye last season, Nacer Bouhanni is now ready to make his comeback.

The Trofeo Port D'Alcudia on January 26th will mark the start of his season. “I am happy to be back in the competition. It's a new beginning for me. I hope I can have another good season. I am doing everything I can to get back on track,” said Bouhanni.

The Frenchman will return to action on January 29th at the Trofeo Palma and will also be a part of the Clasica de Almeria, Tour des Alpes-Maritimes et du Var, Tirreno-Adriatico, Milan-Turin and Cholet-Pays de la Loire. The rest of his season schedule will be contingent on his performance in these races.

His team is taking a gradual approach to help him return to his previous level of performance and also work on building his confidence. “We have developed a program that gives him the opportunity to return to victories quickly. Our goal is to restore Nacer's confidence through these races so that he can quickly return to competing in bigger events,” concluded sporting director Théo Ouvrard.
