European champion Mischa Bredewold is absolute starring the Itzulia Women this week; the Team SD Worx-ProTime won stage 2 as the race leader, winning from a small attacking group that escaped the peloton in the final kilometers.
The day best suited to the sprinters, but one that was an absolute exciting chaos. In the main climb of the day to Urruztigaina, which averaged over 12%, the race blew up after what was already a fast and explosive start.

Demi Vollering launched an attack on the ascent, and behind a restrict group of climbers chased on afterwards. Elise Chabbey bridged across in the descent, but with numbers; SD Worx did not look to continue with this move, and they were then caught by the rest of the group.
The eight-rider group moved with a big gap over the reduced peloton. The group was caught with 16 kilometers to go but a few minutes later attacks restarted and a trio opened up a gap: Race leader Mischa Bredewold, Juliette Labous and Mavi Garcia.
The trio's collaboration was not perfect but it was good enough to just hold off the peloton. In the slight ascent to the line, Bredewold had a kick that her two rivals did not have anymore, and took her second consecutive win to extend her race lead. García was second whilst Labous was third; with Olivia Baril leading the peloton - with a few gaps - right behind.
