#TDF2023 The boys didn't stop until the final finish line in Paris! 🏁 What a 3 weeks of racing! 💛
Finishing third on the final sprint of the 2023 Tour de France, Dylan Groenewegen was unable to add another Champs-Elysees victory to his palmares, much to his disappointment.
"I may have my best legs ever, it's just about winning," he told NOS in his post-stage interview. Jordi Meeus was a somewhat surprising winner, edging out Jasper Philipsen in a photo finish at the line. "It was a good sprint. You know it's bumpy at the end, but I drove through a gap there and lost some speed. I thought it was between Mads Pedersen and me, but they got over. It was a good sprint, but maybe I started a little too early.”
For Groenewegen, the 2023 Tour de France passes without the 30-year-old being able to taste victory. "Paris is always something different,” he says. “I wanted to surprise Philipsen, but I was stuck first. When I started I thought it was a duel against Pedersen, but two more came by."
“I may have my best legs ever, it's just about winning and I didn't," the Dutchman concludes. "I would have liked to have won today because legs were there. I am really sick of this."
