The UCI World Championships will not feature Marta Cavalli as she is still recovering from her neck injury.
Due to Nicole Frain’s fault, Cavalli crashed in the second stage of the Tour de France Femmes. She suffered a concussion and back trauma, forcing her to step away from cycling in order to focus on recovery.
In an interview with La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Cavalli revealed her recovery has been going well, but she " still have problems with neck,” said Cavalli. The rider has returned to training, but she cannot ride a full tour without medical supervision.
"I still can't train fully. It needs more time," she told La Gazzetta Dello Sport. "I still have problems with my neck, which still causes problems on the bike and in daily life. The goal now is to get healthy again. I haven't drawn up a timeline for myself, but I hope to still contest the end-of-season races in Italy this season," concluded Cavalli.
