Nobody could stop Reusser 🔥 The Team SD Worx rider takes the final stage of the Tour de France Femmes after a super strong time trial 💪🏼 _______________ 🇫🇷 #TDFF2023
Marlen Reusser was the main favourite to win the final time-trial of the Tour de France Femmes and she delivered. The 31-year old didn't focus on the overall classification throughout the week and saved her legs enough to strike big today against the clock.
"I almost can not believe it. We won almost everything. I almost can not believe it. Today we win the time trial and the Tour. But I really looked forward to this day," Reusser said in a post-race interview. Ultimately, despite the extraordinary success, it is hardly surprising that Team SD Worx finished the final day with first and second in the overall classification, whilst Reusser, Vollering and Kopecky completed the podium on the final day.
Reusser's competitors were her own teammates, but in this discipline the European time-trial champion was able to be the fastest throughout the 22.6 kilometers in Pau, bringing in her seventh win of the season.
“I have made this time trial a goal. Last week, however, I also had to work for the team," she concludes. "I'm happy to be able to finish it now. I really can't believe what we've all achieved this week. We knew we were strong, but it's crazy that we can finish it like this."
