Demi Vollering has won the Tour de France Femmes, sealing the overall title this afternoon in the final time-trial as Marlen Reusser won the stage.
The final day of racing saw a time-trial in Pau to wrap up an intense week of racing. The 22-kilometer time-trial was unlikely to see a change in the race lead however a stage win and minor places were up for grabs.
Marlen Reusser was the main favourite to win on the day, and having put in focus on the final day of the race she stormed through and got on the hot seat as soon as she crossed the line. Grace Brown and Riejanne Markus were the only riders who managed to finish within a minute, only the GC riders could go close to the Swiss rider later on.
Demi Vollering defended her race lead comfortably, expanding it quite significantly over her rivals as she finished second on the day 10 seconds down on Reusser, whilst Lotte Kopecky rode to third place on the day and also rode into second place on the GC as Annemiek van Vleuten was below her usual level, and she overtook Katarzyna Niewiadoma with the same time in the overall classification.
