Marianne Vos has has powered her way to victory at the 2024 Omloop Het Nieuwsblad WE after a thrilling, four-way sprint to the line.
A total of five riders made the break. An eclectic mix too with women from all over the world, including as far as Brazil and Israel, plus more traditional cycling nations, Netherlands and Belgium. Heading into the final 20km though, it was all about the big-name riders you would expect to competing for such a victory.
Elisa Longo Borghini, Lotte Kopecky, Shirin van Anrooij and Marianne Vos making up an elite four-woman group that led heading into the finale, with an equally star-studded four-woman chase group of Demi Vollering, Puck Pieterse, Katarzyna Niewiadoma and Thalita De Jong not far behind.
Despite the repeated attacks, the four entered the final kilometre as a group of four. In the end, it was Vos who managed to claim the victory, with Kopecky and Longo Borghini completing the podium.
