Sep Vanmarcke thinks Tadej Pogacar should focus on Tour de France: "Winning Ronde three more times will contribute less to his palmares than the Tour one more time"

For the second Tour in a row, Tadej Pogacar has to acknowledge his superior in Jonas Vingegaard. What should the Slovenian do to be in yellow for a third time in Paris next year? It is a question that they will ask themselves at UAE Team Emirates for the 2024 Tour and that Karl Vannieuwkerke also asked his guests in Vive le Vélo.

According to Sep Vanmarcke the Slovenian can still improve in next years, especially considering his far from perfect run in to the Tour: "Pogacar is only 24, and he still has room for growth."

Tadej Pogacar may have to make choices in his program. Does he want to expand his Tour palmares or further complete his honors list in the classics?

For Vanmarcke, the choice is simple. "It was very nice to see him shine in the spring and to see him win almost all those races. But he ticked that off."

"Winning the Tour of Flanders two or three more times will contribute less to his palmares than the Tour one or two more times. I think he wants to win the Tour, because that is the biggest thing in cycling."
