Marc Hirschi has secured the top position in Veneto Classic. He took a small lead and managed to win the race without competition.
The start was aggressive, and no one was able to break free for almost an hour. Michael Belleriwas the first to attack. Jonas Abrahamsen followed, and Matteo Zurlo, Nils Brun and Riccardo Tosin also attacked. The group of five created a gap of 4 minutes and 10 seconds.
The breakaway was caught 40 kilometres before the finish. Marc Hirschi attacked with 10 kilometres to go, and his teammate Davide Formolo followed him. Nicola Conci trailed the duo.
Hirschi took the victory without much competition, while Formolo grabbed the second position. Conci satisfied himself with bronze.
