Mads Pedersen has stunned the rest of the competition at the
Tour of Denmark today, winning the final time-trial by a large margin and displacing
Mattias Skjelmose to take the overall win.
Lidl-Trek were the headliners on the day absolutely, with
Daan Hoole taking an early lead in the time-trial which proved resilient against strong times, in anticipation for what his leaders were to do later in the afternoon.
Hoole's time was beaten by stage 1 winner
Soren Waerenskjold who finished on the same time, but they were no match to Mads Pedersen, who soared through the 16-kilometer race against the clock 22 seconds faster then the duo.
This time was enough to take home the overall classification as his teammate Mattias Skjelmose did not have the legs to match such an immense performance. He defended himself well but lost 45 seconds on the line, finishing second in the GC behind his teammate.
