Lorena Wiebes does unthinkable and wins all stages at RideLondon Classique: "I'm very happy that I'm still unbeatable here at RideLondon"

Lorena Wiebes has successfully completed her quest for hat-trick at the RideLondon Classique by winning all three stages plus the general and points classifications. Nothing new for Wiebes who has already done this two years ago at the British stage race.

"It is very nice to win on completely flat terrain," Wiebes looks back on her stage victory in the third stage. "I enjoyed the center of the city and the team did a really good job keeping us safe. The day actually went well," the SD Worx - Protime sprinter laughs.

However things almost went wrong at the start of the last stage. "One of my teammates fell and she hit my back wheel. So I'm very happy that I was able to escape a fall there. Fortunately, she was able to return to the peloton."

Ultimately, Wiebes sheds light on her exceptional performance. Only Demi Vollering and Marianne Vos have managed to win all stages in a stage race before. It is already the third time for Wiebes who went three out of three also at Tour of Chongming Island in 2019. "It is always difficult to repeat certain performances and hat-tricks are also very difficult. I'm very happy that I'm still unbeatable here at RideLondon. I would like to thank my teammates very much for that."
