Laurens De Plus was of the most prominent guest on the first edition of the R.EV Ride, Remco Evenepoel's training ride with his supporters. The INEOS Grenadiers rider had an excellent Giro and after well-deserved break, is starting his build up towards second part of the season.
"Remco had asked me to ride along," said De Plus in a quick interview for Sporza. "And I had a 5-hour workout on my schedule, so it worked out well." De Plus had to let go of Evenepoel's wheel when he continued on the Muur van Geraardsbergen.
It is no coincidence that De Plus was present in Schepdaal and the surrounding area. "Remco and I live 10 kilometers apart. When he is not abroad, we regularly train together around Geraardsbergen or drink a coffee together."
