The final stage of La Route d'Occitanie had a nail-biting finale, Simon Carr won the stage as a late attack just barely survived the peloton, with Michael Woods arriving in the peloton and winning the overall classification.
The day ended up decided by an early attack in the day's climbs. Lars van den Berg and Simon Carr attacked and built a gap, which never grew too much but proved to be enough to battle for the stage win.
The duo collaborated perfectly ahead of the finish as Israel - Premier Tech controlled the stage. INEOS Grenadiers helped towards the final kilometers but the chase proved unsuccessful.
Lars van den Berg launched the sprint first, but it proved a mistake, with Simon Carr overtaking him in the final meters and taking the stage win. Marijn van den Berg finished third with the peloton only a few seconds behind.
