Jasper Philipsen anticipates Gent-Wevelgem as Alpecin-Deceuninck soar during spring - "I can't wait for Sunday"

Alpecin-Deceuninck's Jasper Philipsen had a memorable Wednesday, clinching his third victory of the season at the Classic Brugge-De Panne race

Having left behind Olav Kooij, Yves Lampaert, and Frederik Frison a few kilometers prior, the 25-year-old Belgian rider was delighted with his accomplishment and expressed his feelings during the post-race presentation.

“I think we had a very strong team today. We were always attentive in the crucial moments, and we were rewarded. We had a very good race, and we can be proud of it. I felt good, and I wanted to race,” he said after the podium ceremony.

His schedule includes the Gent-Wevelgem race this Sunday, where he will try his fortune. “I already knew this morning that it wouldn't end in a bunch sprint. In the final, there was a nice lead group with a lot of fast men, but there was an opportunity just before the Moëres, and we found ourselves with four riders at the front. I can't wait for Sunday," concluded Philipsen.
