Stage 5 of the Volta a Catalunya saw an exciting finale at Lo Port. It was a very difficult climb which saw another duel between Remco Evenepoel and Primoz Roglic. The latter took the stage win after a dramatic sprint.
The accelerations started with over 300 meters to go, and in sight of the line the excruciating pain was too much for Evenepoel who broke down and could no longer sprint. Roglic, the race leader, could, and sprinted his way to the stage win and his maintenance in the lead of the race.
