Jannik Steimle will wear the colors of Q36.5 from next year. The 27-year-old German has signed a two-year contract with the Swiss ProTeam. He comes over from Soudal Quick-Step.
"I'm really looking forward to starting racing for Q36.5," says Steimle on the website of his new team. "My decision to join the team was an easy one. The team has big goals and I have big ambitions myself, so I think we fit together well. I don't think I have reached my full potential as a cyclist yet and I want to win races again, like I did in the past. This team gives me the perfect opportunity to become that type of rider over the next two years."
Steimle turned professional in 2020 with Patrick Lefevere's Belgian team after a successful internship in 2019. During his period with the Belgian team, he won the Tour of Slovakia (2020), as well as two stages there. But that's where his wins counter stops and that's something the German rider wants to change.
Steimle wants to invest further in his time trial in the coming years. "The classics are always a big dream for me, but I feel that I can be competitive in stage races with an individual time trial. I am very much looking forward to joining the team and see this as a step in the right direction."
