Jan Tratnik rides bike for the first time since his accident in early May

Jan Tratnik's recovery seems to be moving in the right direction. The Slovenian from Jumbo-Visma has taken another step in his rehabilitation. Tratnik was unable to cycle in recent weeks due to an operation on his knee, but has now completed a first (indoor) training ride.

Tratnik had to go under the knife earlier this month. The 33-year-old rider crashed in training the day before the Giro d'Italia and missed out on the Italian grand tour last minute. He could not avoid a turning car, injured his knee in that accident and so ended his last training ride for the Giro in the hospital.

Tratnik underwent surgery on his knee in early May and was then able to begin his rehabilitation. The recovery of the all-rounder seems to be going in the right direction, as he has already been back on the bike. It is 'only' an indoor training on the rollers, but for Tratnik it is an important step towards a full recovery.
