The Tour de Romandie has lost one of it's main contenders this morning due to a Covid-19 infection. Cofidis have announced the departure of Ion Izagirre due to a positive Covid-19 test.
The French team has lost two riders, as Anthony Perez has also tested positive. The rest of the team remains in the race after testing negative for the virus that keeps dealing damage in the peloton. The Basque climber had finished third at Itzulia Basque Country and was a contender in Romandie.
The fourth day of racing in Switzerland will be a difficult time-trial where the overall classification will further open up. Ethan Hayter enters the day as the race leader and a contender
