INEOS Grenadiers line up Director of Sport at one of the UK’s leading independent school as Rod Ellingworth replacement

With the INEOS Grenadiers Deputy Team Principal, Rod Ellingworth resigning from his second spell at the British-based team, a search has been undertaken for a replacement and it seems as if the team have found their man.

Following the announcement of Ellingworth's departure, the team's GC leader Geraint Thomas admitted he was gutted to hear the news. "It was gutting really to see Rod step down or leave, or however you want to phrase it. I spoke to him and he’s sad to be leaving but family stuff and whatever, and I don’t want to go into all the details, but from my side, and having known him for so long - a good twenty years now - on a personal level I know him well and we get on. I feel like he was good and great for the team. But things change and people move on. It was quite surprising as well,” Thomas said last month.

According to the renowned cycling journalist, Felix Lowe, a replacement has now been found for the man that oversaw Tour de France triumphs of Thomas, Chris Froome and Bradley Wiggins during his first spell with Team Sky.

"Hearing on the grapevine that the new performance director of Ineos Grenadiers is going to be Scott Drawer," Lowe reports via his official X (Twitter) account. So who is Drawer? "The current Director of Sport at Millfield School, one of the UK’s leading independent schools."

"Scott was former Head of Innovation at Team Sky, and former Head of the Team Sky Performance Hub - so he's not an unknown quantity even if most fans (me included) may not have heard of him before."
