INEOS Grenadiers become first team to announce Vuelta lineup; Thomas, Bernal & Ganna headline

The 2023 Vuelta a Espana is just days away and the INEOS Grenadiers have become the first team to officially announce their eight-man lineup for the final Grand Tour of the season.

Giro d'Italia runner-up Geraint Thomas will lead the charge for the British-based team as they look to claim overall victory. The 37-year-old will be supported by a strong team including former Tour de France and Giro d'Italia winner Egan Bernal, plus two of Thomas's biggest helpers from earlier this year in Italy, Thymen Arensman and Laurens de Plus.

Recent World Championship time-trial runner-up Filippo Ganna will be present and will be hoping for a good result after being forced to abandon the Giro earlier this year due to a positive covid test. Spanish duo Jonathan Castroviejo and Omar Fraile, fresh from the Tour de France ride their home race and a Grand Tour debutant in Kim Heiduk rounds out the lineup.

INEOS Grenadiers for the 2023 Vuelta a Espana:

Geraint Thomas, Filippo Ganna, Egan Bernal, Thymen Arensman, Laurens de Plus, Kim Heiduk, Jonathan Castroviejo and Omar Fraile.
