Nils Politt has been an absolute unit in the third week, making even the top climbers suffer trying to follow his pace uphill on some of the hardest mountain passes in Alpes. It's then no surprise the German had been awarded the 'Domestique of the Week' award for his brutal pulls.
In previous two weeks, this award, which is decided by a public voting, went to his teammate Joao Almeida and Mike Teunissen, who received this recognition at the end of the first and second week of the race respectively.
The UAE Team Emirates rider took the victory (37.4%) over Mikel Landa, Matteo Jorgenson and Sean Quinn. Especially against Landa, it was a very close call as the fan-favourite Spaniard lost by mere one percentage (36.3%). Also Jorgenson wasn't as far off at 24%, while Quinn's work for teammates in breakaways wasn't quite recognized at only 2%.
