After the crash of Primoz Roglic, Jumbo-Visma tried to temporize in the peloton.
Alpecin-Deceuninck, however, did not listen to this. "Yes, the roads were slippery. Jumbo-Visma took the initiative to slow down the peloton. It was a bit awkward as Team dsm-firmenich and ourselves were just picking up pace to catch the breakaway. Today was an opportunity for us so we kept riding. They didn't appreciate it, but sometimes that's just how it goes."
The Australian sprinter is particularly looking forward to the upcoming sprint stages. Groves sees the nervousness in first stages as a boost. "I'm proud of my ride today and I'm looking forward to stages four and five. That's really where my opportunities lie."
