"I think my desired shape is back" - Arnaud Demare casting an eye towards the Tour de France after triumphing at the Brussels Cycling Classic

Groupama - FDJ's Arnaud Demare was a brilliant winner at the Brussels Cycling Classic, sprinting to victory from a breakaway group. The Frenchman feels he could be peaking at just the right time.

“This win means a lot to me. I'm very happy with it because it's only my second win of the year," said the 31-year-old who had only previously tasted victory at Boucles de la Mayenne in 2023. "I think my desired shape is back."

Taking the second Brussels Cycling Classic win of his career after winning in 2017, Demare outsprinted the likes of Biniam Girmay, Jordi Meeus and Tobias Lund Andresen to take the victory. With the Tour de France on the horizon, Demare, a two-time former stage winner, could be seeing his form peak at just the right time.
