Over the last few days in Slovenia, many homes are underwater with whole cities being cut off from the rest of the world with no power. One such town affected has been Komenda, the hometown of the former two-time Tour de France winner Tadej Pogacar.
Some of the scenes in Komeda have been truly terrifying with the Slovenia Posts reporting that over 400 residential homes have been flooded by over half a metre of water. Pogacar shared on social media a video of the effects, including the sight of a UAE Team Emirates team car practically swimming in dirty brown flood water.
“Our biggest problem is the bridges, which are blocked with cattle feed bales,” said Koncilja, who declared a state of emergency for the entire area. Hopefully the weather eases in the coming days and the situation can improve.
