Fuglsang hospitalized due to unexpected inflammation: "Big balls aren't always good"

Jakob Fuglsang's season began at the UAE Tour, but unfortunately, he had to withdraw after the fourth stage due to illness. As it turns out, he was suffering from inflammation in his private area, which required hospital treatment.

Fuglsang recently shared an Instagram story that mentioned inflammation in the private parts to be the reason for his withdrawal. "Big balls aren't always good, that's how I learned,” he shared on his social media.

It's unclear for how long he'll be out of action. Fuglsang calls it "an unexpected pause" in his short message. The Dane started his season at the UAE Tour but struggled on the summit finish to Jebel Jais, and has abandoned shortly after.

There are only a few races that have been confirmed on his schedule so far, with the Amstel Gold Race in April being the next one and Tour de France in July.
