Movistar Team is not one traditionally suited to the spring classics, but they set out for Milano-Sanremo with possibilities of achieving a good result, as they present a team mainly focused on possible sprints.
The weather won't be in favour for the fast men, but the Spanish team is far from just that. The trio of Alex Aranburu, Iván García Cortina and Gonzalo Serrano are all quality puncheurs with a strong sprint that could surprise on such a race. The Spanish team have several options but they will not have the pressure to work or chase.

The team's fourth option is Fernando Gaviria. Although sprinters are more and more detached from the so-called 'sprinters monument' the Colombian will be present. Gaviria's only time in contention for the race win was in 2017, but his fifth place on that edition shows that he has the legs to contest for the first monument of the season.
The team is complete by Johan Jacobs, Oier Lazkano and Lluís Mas who will be providing support earlier in the race and before it blows up on the climbs.
