European champion Mischa Bredewold set to stay with SD Worx - Protime until 2027

Reigning European Road Champion Mischa Bredewold has confirmed she will extend her contract with SD Worx - Protime through to 2027. Considered one of the up and coming new prospects, Bredewold will attempt to succeed the leaving Demi Vollering in her leadership role.

While her European title was a big upset, it was not the first time Bredewold raised her hands on the big stage. 2023 was truly her breakthrough year with also victories in a stage of Thüringen Ladies Tour and at the Classic Lorient Agglomération.

Classics campaign didn't quite go according to SD Worx plan, but later this year Bredewold returned on the upward trajectory, winning two stages at the Itzulia Women in the European champion's jersey. She also came second overall, behind her teammate Vollering who rode to a solo victory in the final stage.

"If you look at how well I have developed in the last year and a half with this team, I have a lot of confidence that I can grow further within Team SD Worx - Protime," Bredewold said in a team press release.

"I never thought when I signed with this team that I would be able to win such nice races so quickly. In that respect, I have made huge strides here very quickly," Bredewold added. Bredewold highlighted that she would like to focus on making progress towards the hilly Classics, but also stage races and time trials in the coming seasons with SD Worx - Protime.

"One of Mischa's strengths is that she is versatile in many areas," added SD Worx team manager Danny Stam. About her potential, he's leaving multiple options available for Bredewold. "She could develop as a really tough rider like Marlen Reusser, but she also sprints very well. We are confident that she can make great strides in our team's colours in the coming years."
