De Brabantse Pijl announces list of teams for 2024 edition with Visma | Lease a Bike set to miss the race

De Brabantse Pijl have announced the twenty-two teams that have been invited to this year’s edition of the race. On the list for the men’s race are eleven UCI WorldTeams, with the rest of them being UCI ProTeams. Among them are TDT-Unibet, who will make their debut at the race as they continue their rise in the sport.

One of the notable absentees is Team Visma | Lease a Bike, who last rode this race in 2021, where they finished second with Wout van Aert behind Tom Pidcock. The team last won De Brabantse Pijl in 2007 when the team was known as Rabobank, as Óscar Freire took his third consecutive victory at the race.

For the women’s race, which held its first edition in 2016, Team Visma | Lease a Bike are also absent along with Ceratizit–WNT Pro Cycling, with the remaining 13 UCI Women’s WorldTeams set to be in attendance in addition to eleven other UCI Women’s Continental teams.

As the first race of the Ardennes Classics season, De Brabantse Pijl is an important preparation race ahead of races such as the Amstel Gold Race, La Flèche Wallonne and Liège-Bastogne-Liège, which often leads to many well-known riders being on the startlist every year.
