The second stage of Giro d’Italia Donne was held on Friday, Charlotte Kool managed to secure third place behind stage winner Elisa Balsamo and second place holder Marianne Vos.
“It was a pretty easy but warm day," she told reporters at the end. "I had a strong sprint and came really close in the end so I think I need to trust myself more and I could maybe have started sprinting earlier".
Eventually the Dutch sprinted to third place, nevertheless a good result behind only Elisa Balsamo and Marianne Vos. "I was a bit boxed in and had to come late but we hope to do better tomorrow and aim for that win." she concluded. . She currently sits in the 15th position in GC after stage 2.
