Breaking: Lorena Wiebes set for dramatic transfer to Team DS Worx

The Tour de France Femmes has started today with most of the main figures in the women's peloton looking for a set of crucial wins in what will be an event with a lot of exposure. One of the stars at the start, Lorena Wiebes, is now on the spotlight for different reasons.

The Dutch sprinter has a contract with Team DSM until 2024 but it is said, according to various sources, that her contract has a clause which allows her to accept other offers as long as there is a significant difference between her current one. Wiebes is a favourite to put on the yellow jersey today in Paris, having dominated widely the sprinter field throughout the year.

Despite being just 23 years of age, Wiebes will become the best payed rider in the peloton according to reports as she will take on a three-year contract with Team DS Worx who will bolster their squad even more significantly.

Team DSM was either unwilling or uncapable of matching such offer, which has been revealed in an unusual time as the Tour took to the start this very afternoon.
