Bauke Mollema takes 'first podium of the season' after clocking 31:48 in Monaco 10km run

There has been a growing theme within the peloton in recent weeks and months of riders showing their prowess in distance running. Bauke Mollema is the latest to impress.

The experienced, 37-year-old Dutchman, who rides for Lidl-Trek took part in a 10km run in Monaco over the weekend and clocked a very impressive time of 31:48, enough for 4th place overall but 1st place in his age range.

Taking to his official Instagram story, Mollema reflected on his efforts. "First podium of the season!" he captions an image of himself smiling and holding a trophy. "4th overall but 1st in my masters age group."

It's not yet known when Mollema will return to racing in the peloton, but when he does, the former Il Lombardia winner is clearly in good shape!
