Aurélien Paret-Peintre enjoyed the brutal Monte Lussari time trial: "It was a somewhat atypical exercise, but it was fun"

Aurélien Paret-Peintre achieved all the goals he had for this year's Giro d'Italia. The AG2R Citoën Team rider managed to stay in the general classification (15th) and took a stage victory to Lago Laceno (stage 4) on top of that. In the time trial up Monte Lussari, the 27-year old delivered a solid performance with a 15th time of the day.

The Frenchman enjoyed this particular ITT, as he explained to Eurosport's microphone. "It was brutal, but whether it's flat or like today's, it's still individual time trial. We are always alone with ourselves and we have to fight. It was a somewhat atypical exercise, but it was fun. I liked it."

Aurélien Paret-Peintre can be satisfied with his three weeks of racing, especially since he again showed a good state of freshness during the third week. "I'm happy with my last week, the legs were there. I haven't weakened, I feel good physically, so I'm happy with my end of the Giro," concludes Paret-Peintre.
