With B&B Hotels - KTM nearing their deadline to announce a new sponsorship and complete their UCI registration, the team's Italian sprinter Luca Mozzato has tried to reassure fans despite the uncertainty. "In the worst case, the team should remain as this year's, and that would be fine for me. At the moment I have no reason to worry."
Run by Jérôme Pineau, the second-division French team had been expected to announce the signings of Mark Cavendish and Max Richeze three weeks ago however, they cancelled the scheduled with just a days notice.
B&B Hotels are understood to be locked in as a sponsor for next year which should alleviate some of the fears and allow them to at least keep the same riders such as Mozzato. What this would mean for the likes of Cavendish however is unclear.
Mozzato only signed a new long-term deal in the summer and the 24-year-old impressed during the Tour de France finishing in the top 10 on four occasions, "Victory is a goal, not an obsession. I am sure that, working as I am, sooner or later it will come"
