The 2025 Cycling World Championships in Rwanda will have experienced organizers from ASO and Golazo to support the organizing local party of the first Cycling World Championships in Africa. This comes with a promise of a quality coverage and high level competition.
"We are honored to help guide this historic sporting moment for Africa," says Bob Verbeeck of Golazo in a statement. "We have been active in East Africa for more than ten years. This is the next big step in developing our presence in Africa."
"We are so happy about this historic moment," said Rwanda association chairman Samson Ndayishimiye. "Not only for our country but for the entire continent. We are ready to get started together with Golazo and ASO and deliver great championships."
The 2025 Cycling World Championships are scheduled for September 21-28, with Rwanda's capital Kigali as the epicenter. "Don't put a sprinter on your lineup, because with Mount Kigali, the infamous Mur de Kigali and especially the cobblestone slope in the last two kilometers, this is a very tough course," says Christophe Impens of Golazo.
