We don't have long to wait now until the biggest cycling spectacle of the year, with the 2024 Tour de France just days away. One of the teams with the extra pressure of being French will be Arkéa - B&B Hotels and as such, they are taking a team with plenty of options.
“Our goal will be to achieve a stage victory in this edition of the Tour de France. There will be opportunities for sprinters, and Arnaud Démare will be our number 1 asset," previews Didier Rous, sports manager at Arkéa - B&B Hotels to the team's official website. "Arnaud will be able to rely on Amaury Capiot, Luca Mozzato and Dan McLay who will be his leadout train. Everyone will have a defined role and must fulfill it for the success of the collective."
It's not only in the sprints that the team will hold hopes however. "Kévin Vauquelin will discover the Tour de France, he will also have carte blanche on certain targeted stages, just like Luca Mozzato or Amaury Capiot. None of our riders will be restricted to an exclusive role on this Tour when the stages best suit their characteristics," Rous continues. "Kévin Vauquelin will have no obligation regarding the general classification. He is going to compete in his first Tour, and will be discovering, learning. The same will go for Raúl García Pierna," with Cristian Rodriguez and Clement Champoussin completing Arkéa - B&B Hotels eight for the Grand Tour.
“The 2024 Tour de France will start from Florence in Italy. This meeting with fans promises to be strong because we know that cycling is elevated to the rank of religion on the other side of the Alps. The objective for the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team will be to play something every day on this Tour, for our riders to be offensive in the aim of achieving a stage success. It will be appropriate to move forward as a team, in order to promote our common interest in obtaining the performance we wish to achieve. We have a workforce built around this ambition," previews general manager of the team, Emmanuel Hubert. "Shining the Excalibur jersey of the ARKEA-B&B HOTELS team inspires us, both on the stages for adventurers by going in the breakaways, or on the mass arrivals, playing our luck to the fullest. Two riders will discover the Tour de France within our squad: Raúl García Pierna and Kévin Vauquelin, two riders who present the same characteristics, and whose evolution we will monitor over the stages, with objectives assigned for one as for the other."
