Mark Cavendish becomes new ambassador for luxury car brand Aston Martin

With his victory in fifth stage of Tour de France, Mark Cavendish has completed his ultimate goal in road cycling. While his farther future plans are yet to be unveiled, one thing we have learnt recently is his new partnership with classic British car brand Aston Martin of which the Manxman will work as an ambassador.

Cavendish said via official brand channels: "I'm excited to get stuck into this new role with Aston Martin. I've long admired the brand's dedication to pushing boundaries, and now, to be part of that drive for peak performance is a unique privilege."

"For a car enthusiast like me, it really is a boyhood dream come true to represent the iconic Aston Martin wings. Together, I believe we can achieve something truly remarkable."

Cavendish was knighted in the King's birthday honours earlier this year for his athletic achievements and his charitable work.

Marco Mattiacci, global chief brand and commercial officer at Aston Martin, said: "We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Mark to the Aston Martin family. Our recent refresh of our core models has demonstrated Aston Martin being the best in class in terms of power, performance and ultra-luxury. Mark embodies our philosophy of being performance-oriented, and this new ambassadorial role adds to our existing avenues."

Cavendish thus becomes second professional cyclist to enter such cooperation, following in the footsteps of Mathieu van der Poel who has entered a partnership with even more luxurious Italian supercar brand Lamborghini earlier this year.
